Our Hydraulic Modelling business operates as a UK-Wide technicaldiscipline. We provide technical modelling, operations and strategic support toour clients in Water and Wastewater in the UK, and our Jacobs colleaguesworking on international projects. The business unit interfaces closely withthe Technical Innovation, Digital Solutions and Conveyancing and Storage teams.Workload is very diverse, and we have teams based in a range of locationsincluding Belfast, Manchester, Glasgow, Winnersh, London and Croydon. We arelooking to appoint a Senior Modeller / Design Engineer with a background inclean water networks to join our busy London team.
The Water & Environment Business Unit sits within our People &Places Solutions business and faces five primary market sectors in UK, Irelandand wider Europe. These are: Environmental and Consenting Services, aroundbroad range of major infrastructure projects in UK and Ireland; Water CatchmentFlood and Coastal risk Management; Ports; Regulated Utilities market acrosswater, energy and emerging telecoms strand; and Ground Engineering andTunnelling. There are around 2200 employees within the unit with animpressively broad range of specialist skills providing a range of solutionsacross these markets and a number of other sub markets.

About the opportunity
We are looking to appoint someone with both the knowledge and backgroundin the UK water utility sector.
Main responsibilities will include:
Construction, calibration, maintenance and interrogation of strategicand All-Mains network models
Identification of shortfalls / “Needs” in network performance andoperations
Development of sustainable, cost-effective and customer-focusedsolutions
Management and co-ordination of site teams relating to siteinvestigations, verification exercises and constructability reviews
Preparation and presentation of technical reports and businesscases
Lead and present at internal and client / stakeholder meetings
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrable previous work history in a relevant role
Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
Proven ability in Hydraulic Network Modelling / Network Design Engineering
Proficient in the use of modelling software (e.g. Infoworks, SynerGi,EPANet or Bentley WaterGEMS etc)
Proficient in the use of GIS software (ArcGIS preferred)
Highly competent in the use of MS Excel
Good Technical Report-Writing skills and proven ability of producingtechnical reports in a previous role.
Demonstrable knowledge of working on model maintenance projects,especially model updates, and model build and calibration.
Demonstrable knowledge in the analysis of hydraulic models as partof engineering or capital project schemes, to produce data and recommendationsto project teams.
Skilled in the manipulation and handling of large datasets.
