Position Summary

Accountable for design of Chemical and Acid plants.

Act as Area Lead Piping Designer reporting to Project Piping Senior Group Lead on large projects and as Lead Piping Designer on small projects.

  • Develop process plant layouts

  • Perform piping studies to determine the most economical routing

  • Route and support piping (materials beyond CS&SS) and large diameter process gas ducting using 3D software

  • Model equipment and structural steel (designed by others) using 3D software

  • Review and/or check vendor documents for compliance with design documents

  • Provide on-site support to clients on international sites during construction and plant check-out

  • Monitor and report progress of design work

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of industrial piping/mechanical design experience. Experience with Chemical and / or Acid Plant technology preferred

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical/Piping Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent

  • AutoCAD, 3D (Aveva, SmartPlant or other) and MS Office (Word and Excel)

  • Detailed piping design experience

  • Large diameter process gas ducting design experience preferred

  • Knowledge of fabrication processes for custom designed process equipment

  • Attention to technical details
