We are looking for a passionate and curious client-focused Senior Project Manager to grow with our team.

The Superintendent will be working on site at the Norfolk Navy Shipyard will have experience managing construction on USACE or NAVFAC work.. The Superintendent’s provide oversight of the General Contractor and other supporting contractors as well as project.. Responsible for delivering large and/or multiple projects, on time, within budget and to agreed specifications and providing effective, skilled project administration to help reduce the costs of delivering projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall work progress and performance of the onsite subcontractor(s).

  • Leads and manages the onsite Jacobs construction personnel consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the safe, orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the client contract documents, facility procedures, project plans, specifications, drawings, and subcontracts. This includes mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities.

  • Monitors the activities of contractors and subcontractors performing craftwork, ensuring compliance with project quality, safety, and security requirements

  • Ensure that subordinates are trained on and aware of specifications and work procedures and are utilized to ensure optimal efficiency

  • Maintains effective schedule and cost control of craft personnel

  • Plans required work activity to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, and materials are available when needed

  • Documents/records work performed, changes, and meetings/discussions fully and accurately.

  • Reports directly to the Project Manager assigned to the construction project.

  • Grows/ fosters/enhances professional and positive relationships with client, site owner and other Jacobs personnel.

  • Ensures completion of the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client and site owner, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs’ HS&E, quality, financial, business, ethics, and policy expectations are met.

  • Provides leadership and accountability for the implementation, and measurable performance, of the Jacobs BeyondZero Health and Safety Program.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Demonstrated the capability to manage various professional and craft personnel on large construction projects (greater than $25M) on DOD projects

  • At least 7 years of experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager or Construction Manager on industrial or waterfront construction projects

  • United States Citizenship

  • High School graduate

  • Familiar with requirements of USACE EM 385-1-1, and experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability

  • Completed the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors" and maintain a current certificate

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • OSHA 30-hour construction Training
