Jacobs Sr. Project Manager - Ports & Maritime in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Our Ports & Maritime team is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in the Virginia Beach area to deliver complex maritime infrastructure development and coastal resilience projects from planning through construction and will have exposure to our global portfolio of projects and design resources.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have responsibility to plan, staff, schedule, and budget projects while ensuring quality of work product, consistency across projects, and staff safety. You will also coordinate with subcontractors and internal support staff and subject matter experts. In addition to managing the project financials, delivery, and client relationship, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, and scientists to deliver complex projects across the Hampton Roads region and beyond. You will also assist in local marketing and business development, tracking of future project opportunities, preparation of proposals and participate in interviews and presentations. Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or related Engineering
• At least 12 years of progressive experience in a consulting engineering firm as a Project Manager for large scale infrastructure projects involving multi-disciplinary teams and valued at $100M USD or more
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and subject matter experts to deliver projects
• Ability to manage the successful delivery contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables
• Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external
• Strong proposal and technical writing skills
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Virginia (or ability to apply for reciprocity) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Demonstrated experience working and delivering successful ports & maritime or coastal resilience projects
• Experience with cost estimating and services during construction.
