Jacobs are recruiting for an Operational Sales Director – Engineering Services, this is a multi-cross-sector role that focuses on developing opportunity for a core capability within Jacobs. This role will be both externally and internally focused to drive sales and can be based in Stockton, Cumbria or any Jacobs UK Office. Core duties will fall into four broad categories: Market and Client understanding, Sales Lead generation, Opportunity Response leadership and Co-ordinate to a successful outcome.
Provide compelling offers to our customers, that are compliant, clear, credible, and concise, using applicable resources, guidelines and templates
Ensure end to end bid delivery excellence in line with Jacobs’s bidding (end game) process
Lead in the development and implementation of opportunities, through the capture and bidding process, developing win plans, storyboards and bid plans that ensure the offering is compelling by instructing tactics and controlling bid thought
Must have a strategic mindset with the ability to think beyond the realms of the bid or proposition.
Collects company data or conducts internal/external research as appropriate for opportunity response documents and/or strategy development
Effective team player including guiding a technical bid team to a successful submission – this role requires significant collaboration with others
Customer facing when required. Confident communications both verbally and written and with a forward-thinking approach, directing customer relationships, interpreting strategic importance and tactical partnering
Understands the balance between risks and opportunities and is confident to challenge the norm and do something different
Develops and maintains sales qualification materials, such as gathering proven best in class responses and proofs to support the bid writers, developing case studies and exemplar responses for key projects to support future opportunities
Develops appropriate network within the company to facilitate identification and sharing of capability, relevant information, best practices etc.

Excellent capability in Microsoft Office suite and with knowledge of database applications

Willing to play an in important role in a team environment and lead by example to enable a successful outcome
Cultivates innovation and drive diversity in company thinking
Previous experience of working within an Engineering environment and /or with nuclear customers and / or Technology and Consultancy Business and / or Sales/Business Development Function desirable
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, technical or related discipline. Similar working level obtained through relevant job experience may be accepted in lieu of degree level education
