Are you a Licensed Wastewater Operator and want to grow your career into project management? Jacobs is looking for a Wastewater Treatment Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Walla Walla, WA where you’ll be groomed for the next step of assuming a Project or a Regional Management position. You’ll work with project leadership and staff to assist in supervising daily Operation activities as well as work with the Project Manager to learn O&M systems and tools to provide superior client support. Working with other members of our team you’ll organize and direct the operations of an activated sludge wastewater treatment plant utilizing bio nutrient removal to meet one of the most stringent effluent permits in the State. You’ll also analyze operational process control procedures, staff development, and institute changes when necessary to achieve full compliance with regulatory agencies. You’ll also be responsible for accurate operational records and prepare reports required by the client, regulatory agencies, and your facility manager.

The base salary range for this position is $71,300 to $124,700. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Advanced experience in the operation and maintenance of a water or wastewater facility

  • Washington Class III or the ability to obtain in 6 months

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • BA/BS degree in Biology, Geography or Environmental Science

  • Self-starter with team-oriented work practices and strong technical problem-solving skills

  • Capable of working independently and maintaining an orderly schedule

  • Understanding of the technical aspects of bio nutrient removal in the activated sludge process

  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel development skills

  • Experience developing programs and working within an approved budget. Specifically tracking costs, adjusting activities to stay on budget, and optimizing labor and materials

  • Proficient at preparing operational and maintenance reports for both internal and external clients

  • Experience working cooperatively with business analysts and accountants to prepare accurate monthly reports, annual and five-year budgets
