Jacobs Software Test Engineer in Warrenton, Virginia

Your Impact:

The mission of the Jacobs Lone Wolf Team is to support, operate, and maintain a DoD provided, integrated voice, video, and data global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff.

To be successful in this role, you'll be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of new products and processes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Test all software releases, including new features, enhancements, and fixes for bugs and defects.

  • Configure and test STIGs for functionality on IT systems.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies.

  • Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.

  • Write, implement, and report status of test cases to program government leads.

  • Track test execution milestones and report on issues and risks having the potential to affect project timelines.

  • Serve as subject matter specialist providing testing expertise for support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software applications.

  • Develop, release, and maintain test procedures.

  • Demonstrate creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements.

  • Collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies.

  • Evaluate alternative courses of action and make recommendations based on sound research.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to project management on software usability and functionality.

  • Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Must have active TS/SCI

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience

  • Possess or have ability to obtain Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) certification

  • Ability to obtain MS 98-365: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals certification

  • Experience with configuration management and software release cycles

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 2019 Server, Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Exchange, SQL,

  • Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2019, KMS, DNS, WSUS, group policies, PKI, SharePoint, MECM, and deploying workstation images

  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization, Commvault data backups/restores, Trellix antivirus software, Kiwi Syslog Server, ACAS, Splunk, RHEL, Citrix, Dell Wyse Management Suite, and thin or zero clients

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Ability to adapt to changing technology

  • Effective communication skills

Preferred:

  • DoDD 8140 IAT baseline certifications
