About the opportunity:
AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of four major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries.
AXIOM provides process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd.
As well as having a large, dedicated team working for Sellafield Ltd, each has immense reach-back capability into parent organisations for knowledge, expertise and innovations gained from within, and external to, the nuclear industry. Examples of other markets include Oil and Gas, Environment, Mining and Aerospace.
The extensive capacity and capabilities of the AXIOM alliance provide the essential expertise that is crucial to achieving both the designs of the alliance and the wider goals of Sellafield Ltd and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).
You will be joining a large existing team that clearly understands the different requirements for optioneering, solution inspired, design decommissioning, operating plant asset care, infrastructure and new builds.
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a CS&A Engineer to join our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington or Cumbria - Westlakes Ind. Park.
Your typical responsibilities:
Production of calculation packages, production of CS&A documents and input into multi-discipline documents (Report and calculations, BoD, DJRs etc.)
Structural Substantiation of building elements (change of loading / area usage) e.g. concrete / steel structures / pipebridges etc
Detailing of temporary and permanent solutions
Consideration of constructability, fire and safety case requirements
Selection of replacement materials
HVAC / Pipe / Cable Tray support design / detailing
Structural Penetration Design / Firestopping Specification
Detailed design of permanent access
Outline Prelim Scaffold Design
Stakeholder / design team engagement / meeting attendance.
CDM Risk Assessments
Input into Outline Installation Method Statements
Here’s What You’ll Need:
General all round civil and structural experience required, with experience working on existing building alterations and asset care type projects.
Proficient in Steel and Concrete design to current codes
Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities
Able to use AutoCAD (preferred) and MathCAD
