Role Outline/ Responsibilities:

The Specialist Consultancy and Laboratory Solutions Team within Jacobs has an immediate position for a Management Consultant to lead a team of highly qualified professionals engaged in tritium and nuclear fusion fuel cycle projects.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the UK and international tritium market/supply chain and established contacts within academia and national laboratories/institutes.

We are looking for an experienced individual to grow our fusion/tritium business, raise our profile at international conferences/meetings and oversee the professional development and mentoring of junior team members to develop experts of the future.

While nominally based out of our Warrington offices, we are happy to discuss flexible and remote working arrangements with the right applicant. Occasional travel to support our clients will also be required.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Leading a multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to deliver large projects.

• Expanding the team to develop key technical skills in:

• tritium handling, storage, and distribution systems

• hydrogen purification and isotope separation

• gaseous, aqueous and solid detritiation technologies.

• Providing in-depth technical responses to tenders and enquiries.

• Communicating and influencing stakeholders, including: clients, business partners, regulators and team members.

• Developing new techniques/experimental designs and providing technical guidance on complex projects.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• A good understanding of project lifecycles with support to pricing, schedule and risk activities for both bid and projects.

• Graduate in chemistry, chemical engineering or other scientific/engineering discipline.

• A self-starting outlook being sufficiently motivated and ambitious to work independently on a number of tasks simultaneously.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• The ability to work flexibly on complex problems developing innovative solutions.

• Knowledge of the chemistry, materials and engineering issues associated with the tritium and the nuclear fusion fuel cycle.

• Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).

• Proven track record in fusion/tritium technology.

Desirable:

• Post-graduate qualification in chemistry, chemical engineering or other scientific/engineering discipline.

• Either hold chartered status or have the ability to gain chartership.
