About the opportunity:
Jacobs Radiation Protection and Characterisation Team, within the Decommissioning Services Business, is looking to recruit staff with skills in radiological characterisation of sites and facilities. The role will cover all aspects for waste, facility, and site characterisation in support of nuclear site/facility characterisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning for characterisation, radiometric modelling, and deployment of High-Resolution Gamma Spec equipment. The team is also focused on the development of detectors and tools for radiological characterisation, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in R&D initiatives.
The Role will be based at our Birchwood Site, Warrington, with occasional require travel required to support in the delivery of characterisation programmes. Role will also require a degree of management and mentoring skills, associated with technical delivery and deployment
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Here’s What You’ll Need, Experience in one or more of the following:
Honours Degree, MSc, or Ph.D. Physics or allied science
Experience of HRGS systems, Research or Industry based experience
Experience in the application of ISOCS, MCNP, or Similar
Mathematics / Statistics expertise are also desirable.
Ability to write scientific reports / Journal Publications
Modelling using IOCS, MCNP, or similar
HRGS equipment deployment
Statistical Sample Planning (DQO, VSP)
Radioactive/ Conventional Waste Management
Deployment of Radiometric Equipment on Nuclear Sites
Site Deployment of High-Resolution Gamma Spectrometry
