About the Opportunity
Jacobs is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
Jacobs provides the design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. As a result of increasing ask for our services, there are significant opportunities for you to support a key project within the nuclear business.
We are currently looking for a Nuclear Safety Engineering Capability Lead p osition to join the team, ideally in Birchwood or Cumbria, but will consider other locations if you are able to commit to regular travel to our client offices.
This role reports into PPP Head of Technical. You will be joining a team of technical experienced professionals to assure delivery of effective outcomes across a large portfolio of projects. You will be working closely with the client Engineering lead team.
Our team will support you and develop you in the role, even if you haven’t experienced all aspects of this type of role previously.
This role will include:
• Discipline specific capability development, including recruitment, portfolio resource planning, support to supply chain development, identification of skills gaps and relevant training.
• Independent technical assurance & experienced professional advice to projects, harvesting of Learning from Experience and sharing across the portfolio. Development of action plans to create and improve the “PPP Way”
• Supporting the role out of the “PPP Way” improvements by influencing the engineering leads and their disciplines
• Technical delivery on projects when required
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Degree and chartered in a relevant ideally engineering discipline
• Experience of working in large scale projects
• Ideally you will be a great collaborator and an active listener. Resilience and adaptability will be required to work in this dynamic environment
