About the opportunity:
The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.
For our team at Birchwood Park, we are seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer.
You will be responsible for package coordination and the management of design reviews for plant and equipment in rooms throughout the North Annexe of the BEP facility.
Typical activities in this role will include (but not limited to):
Organise and chair design reviews for plant and equipment layouts and space manage throughout the North Annexe of the BEP facility.
Manage actions and delegate activities to ensure approvals and close-out of room reviews in line with the programme.
Support CE&I Area Lead Engineer in adopting a pragmatic approach to the CE&I engineering design and in alignment with the engineering principles adopted across the wider project.
Provide advice and guidance to the CE&I Area Lead Engineers on compliance with relevant legal requirements, Sellafield Ltd standards, European and British Standards, non-European standards and project procedures.
Support the DEM (and APM) in support of delivery of design to programme.
Coordinate across all areas and to liaise with the Sellafield Ltd CE&I Intelligent Customer (IC) to ensure the CE&I design aligns with the projects ‘Fit for Purpose’ design philosophy and the IC’s expectations.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Hold a minimum HND or equivalent
Significant demonstrable experience in delivering nuclear EC&I design in a similar role/environment, with recent relevant exposure to work in the nuclear industry.
Experience of being a CE&I technical lead.
Ability to chair and control meetings.
