About the Opportunity

We require a new addition to our growing Cyber Security Nuclear team in the North West. We are looking for a Solutions Architect experienced in IT focused Systems Design, development, test, support and management to lead and deliver a number of projects related to the digitisation and efficient data exploitation of our clients’ systems. As part of the initial project, you will lead the capture of the system requirements by leading a series of client workshops before defining the candidate solution architecture to be taken forward to a proof of concept. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the end solution to meet this specific need as well as ensuring the concept has extensibility to other capabilities across our wider client base. Stakeholder management will also be critical, building strong relationships with the wider Jacobs team and our clients to ensure future success.

You will be highly familiar with the technical, technical management, and agreement processes defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 – Systems and Software Lifecycle Processes. You will be reporting to the Nuclear Technical Lead.

The role entails hybrid working, with on-site attendance determined by the nature of the projects themselves but with an expectation of the ability for remote working for large portions of time.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Multiple years experience eliciting requirements, designing, building, implementing, and testing/validating IT systems and networks

  • End-to-end Systems Engineering lifecycle (e.g. ISO15288)

  • Ability to generate proposals in response to client requests, with associated timelines and Basis of Estimates

  • Ability to work with and lead teams

  • Any experience in data/Information management is desirable, but not essential

Frameworks, languages, methodologies, and tools:

  • Architecture Frameworks, such as TOGAF and UAF

  • Modelling Languages, such as: SysML and UML

  • Modelling Tools, such as: PTC Windchill Modeler and Sparx EA

  • Requirement Tools, such as DOORS
