About the opportunity:
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

We are currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer position to join the team in Birchwood.
The requirement is to lead a team of Civil and Structural Design Engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering design work packages through concept, preliminary and detailed design for a Reinforced Concrete Structure/Substructure, Steelwork Overbuilding/Linkbridges, Reinforced Concrete ducts/trenches, etc.).
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (CEng (ICE/IStructE) Or Approaching Chartered status
Appropriate qualifications in Civil or Structural e.g. MEng, BEng, BSC, HND, HNC
Experience of working on projects delivering multidiscipline design solutions, both greenfield and brownfield
Understanding of the project delivery all stages of design (concept, front end through to detail manufacture)
Leading a team of civil/structural design engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages
Delivering CS&A major project solutions
Knowledge of British Standards and Seismic Design Codes for reinforced concrete structures
Sound working knowledge and experience of relevant legislation.
Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment; Rail, Bridge Construction, Offshore etc
Experience of being embedded into supply chain integrated teams
Experience in integrating CAE design within BIM Modelling and processes advantageous.
Knowledge of the Sellafield Ltd Management System (SLMS) advantageous
Experience of civil/structural safety design and interaction with the Regulator
Experience of Design Justification
Experience in preparation and delivery of Requirement Specifications
- Experience of CAD packages, REVIT, Civil 3D, Navisworks would be also advantageous.
