About the Opportunity
Jacobs has worked for more than 40 years to guide Sellafield’s safe decommissioning, waste management and environmental remediation. Program and Project Partner (PPP) are responsible for design and engineering.
The role could be undertaken by a Senior Project Manager with strong engineering experience or a Project Engineering Manager with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
You will have a unique opportunity to be part of a team which will be directly responsible for change in a highly-regulated industry, which will invest up to £7bn over the next two decades
The role is a direct report to the Senior Project Manager for Engineering on the Replacement Analytical Project building.
Is a member of the lot 2 wider leadership team
The role will encompass the building of a team of 3-5 Engineering personnel supporting the major project Baseline estimating work who will become direct reports.
Responsibility for the relationship and integration of Jacobs work with other partners in establishing the MPB.
The broader interfaces will encompass the balance of the engineering resources on the project (hundreds), the Central services team who provide governance and support and the stakeholders within Jacobs who will agree the incentivized price.
The ability of the candidate to drive behaviours and operate collaboratively and support the shaping of the PPP into a single cohesive delivery organization (rather than 5 separate Lot holders) should be seen as of equal importance to delivery of the scope of work.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Demonstrable qualifications and or in-depth experience and capability across Project Management, Engineering and Construction fields suitable to the seniority and responsibility of the position and project.
Experience of Major Projects, ideally including experience of the Sellafield governance approvals and stakeholder environment.
Experience of pricing work, significant bids to clients, or delivery of significant projects to time and cost in a commercial environment.
Experience of Engineering delivery across the project lifecycle and across all engineering functions including security and safety case. (does not require an engineering specialism or deep technical knowledge – but needs sufficient experience to lead in an engineering environment)
Good understanding of engineering maturity particularly around HazopII and detail design gate.
Understanding of the challenges of project delivery across the lifecycle. i.e. from design through to commissioning and handover.
