About the opportunity:
Jacobs acts as the Technical Advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o. (PEJ), which is the state-owned entity responsible for delivering Poland’s nuclear power programme. The Technical Advisor’s role is that of an “Owner’s Engineer”, which is not involved directly in any NPP design or construction activity, but rather acts as an advocate for the Client, applying technical due diligence to all aspects of the process, along with supply chain and contract management support for plant and equipment vendors engaged by the Client. The Technical Advisor fulfils this function through the delivery of engineering and technical packages of work (referred to as Service Authorisations) which require the development, approval, implementation and reporting of a diverse range of engineering and technical methods by suitably qualified and experienced team members.
The role of Project Manager is to manage the assigned multidiscipline projects within the engineering and technical programme of work through all phases, from inception to completion. The Project Manager collaborates with other project functions.
Main responsibilities
Leading & managing multidiscipline projects through all phases, initiation process, planning, monitoring and controlling, executing and closing process
Establishing and executing safe and effective project delivery strategies covering estimating, procurement, project management and controls
Bid management, scope definition, programme and estimate development
Ensuring variations are raised and processed at the correct stage for any changes in the work
Ensuring resources are identified early and available both through internal sources and partner organizations
Development and implementation of project plans
Project quality management
Maintaining schedule and monitoring project baseline
Identification, assessment and mitigations of key risks and opportunities
Comply with all project governance processes including tender reviews and risk evaluation
Coordinate multidiscipline teams for delivery of complex projects
Here’s What You’ll Need:
10 years for Nuclear experience required
Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, within the Nuclear Energy sector.
Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.
Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field.
