Jacobs is seeking a Data Analytics Project Manager in Washington, D.C. Duties will include:

  • Lead a large scale development project in the Northern, VA/DC Metro area for a large Federal Customer

  • Help pursue several new opportunities and are looking for outstanding individuals with experience in managing Big Data Analytics projects to help us deliver superior services and products to our clients

  • Proven experience in full life-cycle software development (Agile/Waterfall) and manage a portfolio of projects geared towards the implementation of Big Data Analytics systems

  • Needs to have both classic and Agile IT project management experience, and be able to leverage the two disciplines as appropriate while evolving the organization towards an Agile like methodology

  • Experience planning, coordinating and sequencing IT delivery tasks, as well as managing a number of complex IT work streams

  • A technical background is a benefit to assist in the planning and sequencing of technical changes and collaborating with development teams

  • A background in Data Warehouse, Data Science or Data Analytics Intelligence project management would also be beneficial.

  • Will manager a portfolio of software development tasks for a multiyear modernization program and may lead 1 or more work streams as a PM

  • Initiate, plan, schedule, estimate, forecast, coordinate, control, manage and deliver IT programs independently

  • Provide leadership, direction and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support.

  • Evolve classic waterfall to Agile principles, as applicable, to ensure success of the project in a continuous delivery mode.

  • Aggressively manage risk and issues, and mitigation efforts as appropriate

  • Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to proactively solve a broad range of problems across technologies.

  • Provide excellent communication and escalation capabilities for customers

  • Show proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders with potentially competing priorities.

  • Encourage de-centralized decision-making within teams, but act as escalation point when consensus decisions cannot be reached.

  • Will manage teams with multiple subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience and ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications

  • Minimum 10 Years IT Experience

  • Minimum 6 Years IT Project Management Experience

  • An additional 2 Years Agile Project mgmt. or Highly Iterative Project Methodology experience

  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of Agile software development, testing, change management, training programs, project management methodologies, concepts, practices, procedures and standards.

  • PMP Certification

  • Master’s Degree a plus

  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing IDIQ / BPA contracts with multiple task orders as well as multiple contract types such as Time and Materials, Cost Plus and Fixed Price.Proven track record for IT solution delivery that drives business value

  • Proven experience in managing Federal Clients and “C” level leadership

  • Knowledge of Federal Law Enforcement data, databases, and investigative techniques

  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing including Amazon Web Services and MS Azure

  • Significant experience managing in an environment with changing business conditions, technology and system changes

  • Proven track record for IT solution delivery that drives business value.

  • Experience running 30 FTE program equaling $10M revenue

  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across work groups

  • Experience developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational, issue resolution, and customer relationship management

Essential Functions

PhysicalRequirements:Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

WorkEnvironment:General Office environment. The work environmentis fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature ofthe work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other membersof the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment& Machines:General office equipment including PC/laptop,Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous officeequipment.

Attendance:Attendance is critical at all times. Must be ableto work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However,times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to beavailable to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet lastminute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be able to communicateeffectively both verbally and in writing

Must take and passa drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Mustbe a US citizen.
