About the opportunity

With our power business in New Zealand growing and a local team that isexcelling in providing innovative electrical design solutions to our clients,we are actively seeking a Specialist Substations Primary Design Engineer, basedin our Wellington office. Your role will be to provide HV/EHV substationprimary detailed designs to clients in the power generation, transmission,distribution, and industrial HV sectors.

As a Specialist Substations Primary Design Engineer,thisis your opportunity to look for new and exciting projects to challenge andstretch your intellect and creativity. You will have the opportunity tohelp grow our Power business with our local and International clients.

About you

As a senior professional, you will be provided with the opportunity tolead, manage and expand our power and industrial business, particularly in thefield of Transmission Substation design. To excel in this role, you will needthe following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent degree and accredited with Institute of Professional Engineers NZ.

  • Specialist level experience preferred in primary systems design

  • Specialist level experience preferred in EHV transmission electrical engineering

  • Be a strategic thinker and have professional communication skills that influence outcomes and clients alike.

  • Effective project delivery capability.

  • Strong range of broad technical competency including an understanding of power systems, HV cabling, protection and secondary systems.

  • Strong work ethic, responsive attitude, professional rigour and ability to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and program.
