This internship is designed to give interested candidates an introduction into the Water/Wastewater industry by giving them hands on experience at the Wilmington Wastewater Treatment Plant. A successful candidate should have an interest in the Water/Wastewater field with a heavy emphasis on Engineering, Science, or Math and at least be starting their Junior year of college in Fall 2021.
Responsibilities: Assist lead lab analyst in performing permit related Lab Testing
Assist technical staff in various projects related to the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities
Use analytical skills to evaluate problems and gather data for use by other technical staff
Participate in technical meetings on O&M and engineering as it relates to job duties or assigned projects
Spend time shadowing various other fields within the plant and at other projects within Jacobs
Enter permit/process data into HACHWims software and have a general knowledge of excel and word
Participate in projects/programs assigned by Project Director or Project Engineer
Conduct field work under the direct supervision of a manager in a safe manner
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Engineering or Science Major
Experience with Microsoft Products including Excel and Word
Strong Organizational Skills
Experience working with diverse teams in a fast paced environment
Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
Willing to relocate to the City of Wilmington
Ability to work in the field and lift up to 40 lbs
