Ourprojects involve working with various major clients in the transport industry,including local authorities, private sector, and government, throughout the UKand Ireland.
We wish to recruit an experienced Senior Transport Modeller tocomplement our current team in Winnersh (Reading). You will become part of a respectedand ambitious team, and the role will provide every opportunity for you to makeyour mark and influence the continuing sustainable growth of Jacobs in the UKand Ireland.
Primary Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Transport Modeller you will be involved in delivering a widerange of transportation projects, for various high profile clients across theUK and Ireland. In order for you to fulfil this role you must have knowledgeand experience using industry standard modelling packages and recognised transportappraisal techniques.
Occasional travel within the UK and/or overseas may be required.
A numerate degree in a relevant subject for example Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics
Significant experience as a Transport Modeller for road traffic and/or public transport studies with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects
Detailed practical proficiency working with macroscopic transport modelling software (e.g. SATURN, VISUM, CUBE) and/or microsimulation software (e.g. VISSIM, Paramics)
Ability to work both as part of a team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems
Numerate with excellent data analysis skills. Competency in data analysis packages, such as Excel/Access
Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports using data from transport models and scheme appraisal techniques
MSc in a relevant Transport discipline
Experience in statistical analysis packages / programming languages (e.g. R, SQL, VBA, Python)
Knowledge and experience of GIS software e.g. MapInfo
Have achieved, or be working towards Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional e.g. CIHT, TPP, CEng
Experience of project and client management, covering programme, resources, finance and quality control.
Track record of successfully mentoring and developing junior colleagues and sharing technical knowledge.
