Your Impact:

We are looking for a Land Surveyor Professiona l to join us in Yakima, WA supporting our Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) client. As part of our team your primary responsibility is to oversee, guide, train, and develop cadastral survey work. Duties may also include oversight for project delivery, development, design, construction, right-of-way, and monumentation efforts. You’ll serve as a staff advisor and surveying expert in one or more specialty areas, providing quality control for surveys to verify compliance with state standards, policies, and procedures.

You will utilize your expertise to advise and report to SCR Survey Supervisor. We will rely on you to work closely with the State Survey Manager and actively participate in the improvement and strategic direction of survey operations or their surveying specialty within the agency.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Certification as a Licensed Surveyor-in-Training, and one year of experience as a Transportation Engineer 2, Transportation Technician 3, or equivalent

  • OR two years of experience as a Transportation Engineer 1, Transportation Technician 3, or equivalent.

  • Possess a valid state driver's license and ability to drive a motorized vehicle in the transportation of crew and/or equipment on and off road

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

  • Experience Leading or directing a survey crew of skilled or non-skilled in the field in varying weather, terrain, vegetation, rural or urbanized locations throughout the state to complete tasks or projects working as any position on a survey team

  • Land Surveyor In-Training or Professional Licensure such as LSIT, PLS or equivalent certification or experience.

  • Experience in the Private or Public Survey field as a Lead, Tech, or intern.

  • Knowledge of standard highway design, surveying, and construction principles.
