We currently have an opportunity for a Senior/Principal Asset Management Consultant within our Asset Management Advisory (AMA) team; part of our Strategic Consultancy business, based in our York or Leeds office.

The experienced Senior/Principal Consultant will demonstrate competence in areas including Asset Strategy, Integrity, Operational Excellence, Life Cycle Costing, Reliability, Maintenance, Turnarounds and Operational Readiness Assurance. The roles provide opportunities to tailor bespoke services to suit a diverse set of clients, working in a ‘sell-do’ business model and to be a key member of the Practice. The successful candidate will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide consulting services to clients during all phases of an engagement, including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritisation, ranking, implementation and close out;

  • Support the winning of proposals by identifying client requirements, win themes, technical options, structuring the commercial offer, meeting with clients, and participating in presentations and discussions, ensuring appropriate governance is applied to all proposals

  • Manage and implement solutions and performance improvements within client organisations whilst controlling quality, cost and client satisfaction;

  • Lead and mentor junior members of the Asset Management team, providing guidance, support and direction to create a high performing culture built on technical excellence and strong project delivery

  • Act as and be recognised as a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ in Asset Management activities across Asset Management Advisory and the wider Jacobs;

  • Prepare and deliver conference papers for delivery at international events;

  • Participate in Jacobs’ cross-sector ‘Asset Management Community of Practice’;

  • Identify new opportunities and leads;

  • Support growth of the business.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Able to work within a ‘sell-do’ model;

  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed;

  • Practical consulting experience – including scoping, selling and delivery;

  • Asset management strategies, practices and methodologies.

  • Significant experience in either highways, rail, built environment, utilities, ports and maritime. Rail specific experience would be beneficial.

  • Experience with Life Cycle Cost models, RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability), and working on large integrated engineering programmes;

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations for all levels;

  • Confidence to work at all levels of a client organisation (Board to Technician);

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment;

  • Numerate with advanced Excel skills;

  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client’s needs;

  • Leads the preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets;

  • Supports a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps, develops work processes, tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.
